Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of UrsaPDF. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
1. Lawful Use
You agree to use UrsaPDF only for lawful purposes and in accordance with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations.
2. Prohibited Content
You may not use UrsaPDF to create, edit, store, or transmit any content that:
- Is illegal — including child sexual abuse material, content that promotes terrorism or violence, or content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
- Is fraudulent or deceptive — including forged documents, fake identities, or material misrepresentations intended to mislead recipients.
- Is defamatory, harassing, or hateful — including content that threatens, harasses, or discriminates against individuals or groups.
- Contains malware — including viruses, worms, ransomware, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to computer systems.
- Violates privacy — including content that exposes another person's personal information without their consent ("doxing").
- Is regulated — including medical records, financial statements, or government-issued identification documents that you are not authorized to process.
3. Prohibited Activities
You may not:
- Reverse engineer UrsaPDF software, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
- Circumvent license restrictions, including by creating multiple free accounts to access Pro features without payment.
- Resell or sublicense UrsaPDF without our written permission.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service in a manner that exceeds normal user activity.
- Interfere with the Service or attempt to disrupt its operation, security, or integrity.
- Use UrsaPDF to process bulk mail campaigns, spam, or unsolicited commercial communications.
4. Resource Limits
To ensure fair access for all users, we may impose limits on:
- Number of documents processed per day
- Maximum file size per document
- Number of simultaneous device activations
- API request rate (if applicable)
Exceeding these limits may result in temporary throttling or account review.
5. Account Sharing
Your UrsaPDF account and license are for your personal use or use within your organization (depending on your plan). Sharing your login credentials with individuals outside your organization is prohibited. Family or team plans, where offered, must be purchased separately.
6. Reporting Violations
If you believe a user is violating this AUP, or if you have encountered content that should be reported, please contact us at abuse@ursapdf.com with relevant details. We will investigate and take appropriate action.
7. Enforcement
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of this AUP. We may take any of the following actions, with or without prior notice:
- Issue a warning
- Temporarily suspend your account
- Permanently terminate your account
- Remove or quarantine offending content
- Report illegal activity to law enforcement
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. Continued use of UrsaPDF after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
